At Valley College, giving back is an important part of who we are. We believe that serving our community helps our students grow both personally and professionally. Our staff and students regularly take part in local events, volunteer projects, and donation drives that support families, organizations, and neighborhoods around us.

“Music Moves Us” – Sam Michaels Park,
Jefferson County Parks and Recreation
Valley College students volunteered at a 9-week summer music series at Sam Michaels Park, supporting hydration stations, event setup and teardown, and backstage operations. Throughout the season, they met performers such as Kanin Wren and Christian Lopez, and their strong contributions earned them invitations to assist with the upcoming county music festival and Lita Ford concert.
National Night Out

Valley College students supported a community-building campaign focused on strengthening police–community partnerships by assisting with event logistics and engaging with attendees.
Kidz Pac
Martinsburg, West Virginia
Valley College students helped combat summer food insecurity by packing more than 3,000 lunches for children at risk of hunger.
Relay for Life- Cancer Fundraiser
Valley College students supported a community walk and fundraiser for the American Cancer Society by helping with fundraising, decorating, and assisting with setup, admissions, and teardown.

Project Linus
Martinsburg, West Virginia
Valley College students partnered with Project Linus to support the organization’s mission of providing handmade blankets to individuals in need. Working together, they created 36 cozy blankets for people experiencing homelessness in the Martinsburg area, offering comfort, warmth, and care to their local community.
Hope House Luncheon
Berkeley Springs, West Virginia
Students supported the Hope House Luncheon, an event dedicated to women facing domestic violence and homelessness. They prepared and served a full spaghetti lunch, shared musical performances, and offered educational and empowerment stories, creating a meaningful and uplifting experience for the residents.

Autism Awareness Walk
Washington County
At the Autism Awareness Walk, students played an active role in raising visibility and support for individuals with autism. They assisted with event setup, contributed to fundraising activities, and engaged with families and participants to help strengthen community awareness.

Color Run 2025
Jefferson County Parks and Recreation
During the vibrant Color Run 2025, students supported community wellness by managing hydration stations, helping with event setup and teardown, and joyfully color-bombing participants throughout the race. Their energy contributed to a fun and memorable day for runners and spectators alike.
Prime Time for Women
Distinguished Woman Conference
Students assisted at the Distinguished Woman Conference hosted by Prime Time for Women, an event focused on women’s health and healthy aging. They helped with seating, event setup, and general support to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for attendees.

Seed Sowers
Valley College nursing students donated supplies and volunteered their time at a facility that provides housing and transportation for individuals in active substance abuse recovery.

Community Health Fair
Valley College nursing students supported the event by providing free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings for community members.
School Supplies & Clothing Event
Valley College provided free school supplies and clothing to support families in the community.
