In honor of Veteran’s Day, the Valley College Student Government held a small ceremony of appreciation for our Veterans and active military. The Veterans present assembled our American Flag onto our flagpole and placed it to stand at the campus front door entrance. The flag was donated by HVAC student Deon Whitley and the flagpole was built by HVAC instructor Noah Balser. The students, staff, and the spouses of students who served were asked to come to the front of the orientation room to introduce themselves and their branch of service. They were each given a thank you card signed by the student body and pinned with a flag lapel pin. Following the pinning, the Veterans attached the flag to the flag pole and we all stood for a moment of silence to honor those who have served and the brave soldiers we have lost. At the end of the ceremony everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a great Hooah!! by the Veterans!
